“And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them. And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four (Mark 2:1-3).”

The greatest joy on earth anyone can experience is the “joy of salvation”. Not only do you experience a turn-around in your life and destiny, the heavens also rejoice over a sinner that get saved. The eternal plan of God is to save humanity from their sin and give them eternal life in Christ Jesus. Therefore, I want to share with you another very important way you can make a lasting impact in your world, that is, by bringing your friends and family to Jesus.

In Mark 2:1-12, the Bible records the account of a man that was sick of the palsy who was brought on a stretcher to Jesus by his four friends. But because of the crowd, they could not come into where Jesus was. So, they took him to the top of the building, tore the roof and let him down to where Jesus was. Jesus commended the faith and determination of the four friends, forgave the man of his sins and healed him of the palsy.

Just like the paralytic man, we are also sorrounded by people who are sick and suffering from the scourge of sin and need to see Jesus. Even though they may wear good dresses, put on perfumes, drive nice cars, live in a good apartment or have all the degrees and titles in the world; without Jesus, their life is empty. And their emptiness often lead them to do crazy things. You would be surprised at the calibre of people that commit suicide, rape, kill, divorce and abuse women and children – they are people that are “morally good” on the outside. And the reason is this: without an encounter with Jesus, wickedness lurk in the heart of every human, no matter how good looking they are. Therefore, many of your colleagues and friends at work, school, neighbourhood, or family are suffering untold hardship like the paralytic man under the bondage of sin. God has saved you so that you can bring them the greatest gift they can ever receive by sharing the love of God with them. So don’t watch them going-on in bondage, tell them about Jesus. Share with them the testimony of how you encounter the Lord Jesus and how He has transformed and changed your life. Sow the seed and allow the Holy spirit to work it out in their life.

In view of this, I want to challenge those of us who are privileged to be a part of the “hi-tech generation”, let’s not abuse the privilege we have, rather we should use technology as a tool to impact our world positively for the Lord. Thank God for emerging technologies that are given us opportunity to create a global network of friends and colleagues. There is no any other platform we need to share about Jesus that we don’t already have. Here are then the challenges: how do we utilize our global contacts to impact our friends for the Lord? What kind of messages are we sharing with them online? How do we introduce Jesus as the solution to their problems? To me, this should be the driving vision.

Let me show you one other thing I saw with the paralytic man and his friends – the four friends did not just dropped him in the crowd, but do all that is needed for him to see Jesus. I think this is a lesson to many of us who simply invite people to church or a fellowship programme and care less whether they really see Jesus. This is like dropping them in the crowd. You must ensure that you care about them and follow them up until they genuinely see the Lord. Don’t give up on them until they are saved.

Finally, let me remind you that there is a great reward for you both on earth and in heaven if you win souls to the Lord. Romans 10:13-15 says:

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”

There is a favour and beauty that goes with the life of those that the Lord can trust with the message of the gospel of peace. And I pray he will be able to depend on you for the salvation of your friends and loved ones.

Stay blessed in the Lord.

Prayer Point:
Meditate on Psalm 126:5-6, and pray that the Lord would give you compassion for souls, so that you can experience the joy of soulwinning

I will tell someone about Jesus every week.
